You Can Help

Keep Bellingham Livable
Make your voice heard. Here is a list of actions you can take to have an impact on the future of your neighborhood:

#1 Contact City Council Members
This is the single most effective thing you can do. Call, write, or ask for a meeting with your Ward representative. Here’s the link to their contact information: Contact City Council

#2 – Get Involved With Your Neighborhood
Planning for Bellingham’s future should be based in neighborhood planning, not from the top down.

One size does not fit all.

Each of Bellingham’s neighborhoods is unique. Attend neighborhood meetings and raise the important issues about zoning, land use, housing, enforcement, neighborhood protections, and community building. Link up with your neighborhood activists; send requests to:

#3 – Invite the Bellingham Neighborhood Coalition to SPEAK
Help create a dialogue and educate your neighbors about the problems with top-down planning. The BNC can show our 40-minute “Don’t Ballardize Bellingham” video or send a speaker to attend your meeting.

#4 – Attend City Council Meetings

Let your voice be heard.

Show up for Public Hearings on important topics that will impact neighborhoods. Speak up during the public comment period.   Paid representatives of developers, the building industry, and pro-growth organizations should not be the only voices heard.
